The Stooges Brass Band is proud to be supporting the incredibly influential hip-hop duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli, also known as Black Star, at the House of Blues in New Orleans on Sept 6th.  Black Star's 1998 album set the tone for the genre for years to come, abandoning the gangster style rap that dominated the era, and instead focusing on hip-hop's roots in story-telling and connecting people.
